ICE Ignition Systems

The ignition system is often the most overlooked part of a performance engine build. As any good engine builder will attest to you need three things for good engine performance.
- Plenty of air into the carburettor/fuel injection system or air intake system
- A strong and stable supply of fuel
- Plenty of Spark Energy to ignite the right ratio between air and fuel
Most ignition systems on the market rely on antiquated “mechanical “Weights & Springs”. Furthermore, this type of system needs “Re-graphing” everytime you make an engine configuration change. Consequently, this leads to further cost. The “Mechanical Weights & Springs” ignition system doesn’t produce the spark energy or duration required for high-performance engines.
In more recent years there has been the introduction of Capacitive Discharge Ignition (CDI) Systems. Whilst they produce more spark energy than a Mechanical Weights & Springs” ignition system they also require re-graphing. Some CDI systems deploy a multi-spark output at low revs. Whilst this may provide some benefit at low revs the CDI system reverts back to a single spark at the medium and high rev-range.

The ICE Ignition system uses Digital Inductive Technolgy. At the heart of every system is an ICE Ignition Controller. With the ignition on the controller receives a signal from the “Hall Effect Sensor” inside the ICE Billet Distributor. In conjunction with this, the ICE Ignition Coil commences charging. Consequently, the ICE Ignition Controller generates the spark by interrupting or shorting the power to the ICE Ignition Coil. This, in turn, releases the spark energy.

The ICE Distributor has few moving parts making it extremely reliable. The ICE Ignition controller also determines the spark duration. The combination of spark energy and duration determines the explosion size in the combustion chamber.
The ICE Ignition 7AMP Kits produce more spark energy and duration than any other ignition system on the market. Furthermore, the ICE Ignition system comes with many features not found on other ignition systems. Depending on controller choice you can have
- Up to 128 pre-programmed timing curves.
- Vacuum Advance Sensor that applies up to 10 degrees of timing advance under cruise conditions.
- Up to 3 Push-Button Adjustable Rev-Limiters.
- Vacuum and Boost Sensing Sensor for forced induction engines.
- Four Retard wires in the wiring loom for Nitrous assisted engines.
The ICE Ignition systems are the most advanced ignition systems on the market. You no longer have to re-graph your ignition system when making engine configuration changes. Changing total timing can be done by pushing buttons on the Timing Curve switches. If you pick up a bad batch of fuel you can quickly compensate by retarding timing with a push of a button.
